EDEXCEL Entry Level Certificate in
Life Skills : Citizenship & Community Studies
Employment Studies
We join the Employment Studies group in our final year at Petty Pool. During the year we look at all of the future options available to us when we leave college.
During this final year course we look at the issues that are important to us for our future. We learn how to sell ourselves at interview and produce our personal CVs. We are supported in considering the various options available in our local area. This could be supported employment, voluntary work, college, day services or a number of these options. Most of us have a work placement in our final year that suits our future career aims.
We learn how to access public and community transport safely, using trains, buses, dial a ride and more.
We also consider different types of housing. Many of us want to live independently, with friends or on our own. We find out who can help us achieve this goal and visit different housing options, to see what would suit us best.

“Support for students is outstanding. It is delivered through a culture which values the dignity and status of students.”
