Petty Pool Outdoor Education Centre is excited to celebrate the complete transformation of our climbing wall —enhancing both challenge and accessibility for all climbers.
Thanks to the generous support of the Anne Duchess of Westminster Foundation, our refurbished climbing wall is now more challenging, inclusive, and accessible.
The foundation has a long-standing commitment to supporting projects that promote inclusivity and opportunity. Their funding has allowed us to invest in new climbing boards, volumes and holds, making it possible to create more advanced routes for experienced climbers while also designing accessible challenges for younger climbers and those with additional needs. This means that regardless of experience or ability, every climber can now enjoy a route that suits them.
In addition to upgrading the wall itself, we have also purchased new specific climbing equipment—including harnesses and other technical gear—to assist climbers with mobility challenges. This investment ensures that our roped activities are more accessible than ever, breaking down barriers and enabling even more people to experience the joy of climbing.
This transformation was made possible by the hard work and dedication of our staff team, who completed the refurbishment with passion and expertise. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with visiting groups and college learners sharing incredible feedback on the improvements.
